One With The Underdogs - Trustkill Records

All I can think of the entire time that I’ve been listening to this was, ”Why couldn’t I have got this sooner?” As far as 2004 albums I heard that I liked, there weren’t very many. But now I have one more to add to the list of favorites. In case you’ve never heard Terror, they aren’t as metal as many of the other bands considered hardcore nowadays. They are reminiscent of Donnybrook and Death Before Dishonor I found. They seem to be one of those bands leading the way for most new hardcore bands and I quite like the direction they’ve taken. The vocals are a fairly harsh yell, and very heavy but never too excessive I’d say. The guitar riffs are solid and sound good, but if you play guitar and would like to hear something wildly technical, you most likely will not find solace in Terror. The bass guitar is audible, and it pleases me to say that because I don’t get to say it very often. But not only is it audible, it sounds excellent. Finally there’s the drummer, who I really enjoyed listening to. There’s a double kick, or else I would have been disappointed. You must remember this is a drummer for a hardcore band, so chances are he’ll have talent. He’s not just playing his high-hat and snare with an occasional hit on his crash. So I was very happy with the way they sounded (hence my decision to grant them 5/5) and the CD was excellent. I have absolutely nothing to complain about or trash on this album. The lyrics are well written and mostly about hardships the band has encountered. They also stray from using swears (I can count them on my hand).

You should probably buy this album, for those of you who enjoy hardcore. It does have what seems to be a metal influence, but it stays more true to its roots than many other bands around. Chances are if you enjoy the album you’ll be able to see this band as well, they seem to be a touring machine and from what I’ve heard, they put on an amazing show. So try this album out, I doubt you’ll be disappointed.
