Turbonegro – Party Animals

So Turbonegro are back with their follow up to 2003’s Scandinavian Leather – and they seem to have truly found themselves. Gone are the punk rock tunes of old, and instead are replaced with heavy, hard rock anthems. All dressed up in fancy costumes, Turbonegro are bound to keep all their fans happy with Party Animals as it proves that they are in fact, party animals.

Solid licks, crazy guitar solos, the occasional ballad, and powerful vocals from Hank Von Helvette fill every single song. Euroboy’s amazing guitar powers never cease to amaze as he rips out solo after solo in every single song while the band continues to break the line of tasteful lyrics with songs like Wasted Again (featuring guest vocals from Black Flag/Circle Jerks original vocalist Keith Morris), Blow Me (Like The Wind), All My Friends Are Dead and If You See Kaye (Tell Her I L-O-V-E Her). This album is the perfect party album. Its full of stadium glamour rock, but with enough guts and originality to bring it flying back to earth.

After all, it’s not just a coincidence that these guys are considered to be one of the underground’s biggest rock bands with a strong cult-like following. It’s because they keep releasing solid, party, rock albums likeParty Animals. So just crack it open and prepare to sing along.
