Drive-Thru Records Greatest Hits - Drive-Thru Records

Wow. I forgot, but Drive-Thru Records is a damn good record label.

Looking at some of the label’s recent releases may make you falter, but one listen to the Drive-Thru Records Greatest Hits CD, and you’ll soon be remembering all the bands you love and got into the punk movement originally. I mean, you can’t help but jump along with New Found Glory as they asked if they’ve waited to long to find that someone in Hit Or Miss. You easily forget the disappointingSay Hello To Sunshine album as you scream along with Nate on Finch‘s What It Is To Burn. And right after that outburst, Bloody Romance reminds you why Senses Fail made such a huge impact with In The Depths Of Dreams.

To further prove that DTR knows where to find solid bands, they throw in tracks from The Starting Line, Something Corporate, MidtownAllister and Fenix TX alongside some of their newer signingsThe Early November and HelloGoodbye. So really, the entire 16 track album makes for a nice stroll through memory lane, and while they did forget a few bands that should be on here (Dashboard Confessional, The Benjamins, RX Bandits and The Movielife most noticeably), they did recap their last ten years quite nicely.

And while this Greatest Hits CD isn’t a great compilation per say, basically because you’ve heard every single song on here before (I mean, that’s what Greatest Hits are), it does get its job done nicely. So please, if you can, give it at least one listen all the way through, and you’ll remember why Drive-Thru Records as been a prominent name for the past ten years. Or at least dust off your collection and bring outLeaving Through The Window, Lechuza, What It Is To Burn, Nothing Gold Can Stay and Save The World, Lose The Girl – because they deserve to be played over and over again.
