The Nail (Volume 1) - Tooth & Nail Records

Over the past year, Tooth & Nail Records have had a good group of their bands putting out CDs; so many it was hard to keep track off. So to help keep track of it all, they have put together a 20 song CD featuring tracks from many of the releases in the year 2003. With bands like AnberlinThe Juliana TheoryFM Static and Thousand Foot Krutch, you know that the CD will be very enjoyable.

And that is what it is. A very enjoyable compilation CD displaying why Tooth & Nail are one of the leading indie record labels around. With a wide variety of sound, there is a song for everyone. Maybe it’s the pop-punk stylings of AnberlinMaeSide Walk Slam or Watashi Wa. Or perhaps the more harder songs like Emery‘s track, Walls (which is unreleased). The more rhythmic stylings of FM Static1000 Foot Krutch and Bleach may attract your attention slightly more then the hip-hop stylings of Furthermore. They even have some dance/electronic songs by the likes of Joy Electric. So as you can see, there truly is a style for almost anyone out there.

Even if you call yourself a music genius, this album will introduce you to some new T&N bands that you either don’t know about or have forgotten about. I know it’s made me to go and look for some CDs which I’m missing in my collection. And for a low price of 5.99$, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have a copy of The Nail: Volume One.
