Bristol, UK folk-punk trio Toodles & The Hectic Pity have shared their new single, Sitting Down In The Shower, which is out now via Specialist Subject Records. The track is the latest to be taken from their debut album, Hold Onto Happiness With Both Hands, which will be released on 23rd June. The band will be appearing at 2000 Trees Festival in Cheltenham ahead of their own UK album tour dates in July, which include an album release show on 27th July at Bristol’s The Mount Without with support from Soot Sprite and Cosmit.

“This song started from some pretty abstract horrifying dreams about people giving birth to insects, and then running with some of those horrible images. This is a song that we didn’t want to be merely depressing, and so it’s sort of split into two parts. The beginning, which is kind of bleak and horrible, and the second half which starts with the chords running up the guitar neck rather than down, and the lyrical content being about the idea that sometimes you reach rock bottom emotionally, but at least then you know where the bottom is, and you know it’s only up from there. I guess it tries to encourage you to look forward to a time when what you’re going through will be over.” (frontman Callum McAllister)
